The busy busy days have passed me by. I can't believe it!!! It's almost a year since my baby girl has been in this wacky world. Everyday with Presley is something new. I am so fascinated by how much I see out relationship with God similar with my relationship with by baby girl.
For example, she's been horribly sick the past week or so. She had the worst ear infection I have ever seen a baby had to deal with. So here we are Kathleen and I every night giving her a bath and then comes the torture of suctioning Presley's nose and feeding her the antibiotics via a syringe.
It kills me to see her scream and cry as one of us pins her arms down as the other tries to clear her nose and feed her medicine. She fights and fights and cries and cries. It just tears us apart. All Presley knows is we are doing something that makes her uncomfortable and feeding her something she doesn't like.
What she doesn't understand is what we are doing is actually helping her get better. Suctioning her nose will help her sleep better and feed better. The medicine will make her body stronger and soon fight the sickness off.
I can sit there and try to explain to a 10 month old how it all works until I am blue in the face. That daddy and mommy knows better... She still won't have a clue. Maybe that's how it is with us and God. God knows better, he could explain to us about some of the struggles we might have to endure in our lifetime. That we have to go through some hardship to get "better" Yet we will never understand it. We will never know that some of the pain we have to go through will in the end make us stronger and better in so many ways.
So in the meantime I cry and cry when God tries to help me daily. I do hope I understand it a little better than by 10 month old!
